“Low birth rate, high elderly population, low workforce” is a demographic problem which affects Thailand that has now entered an aging society. Facing high risks in both financial security and chronic diseases and many more are becoming more and more severe if there is a lack of preparation, therefore, integrative collaboration between various organizations in many sectors is required.

Chulalongkorn University Platform for Aging Research Innovation (Chula ARi) sponsored by Chulalongkorn University is stepping into the 2nd century, phase 2. This project is a collaboration of 12 departments in Chulalongkorn University, which are Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Communication Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Arts and College of Population Studies, which is a coordinating unit with more than 70 lecturers, researchers and students participating in the project. Prof. Vipan Prachuabmoh, Ph.D., Chula ARi leader says, "Chula ARi aims to work proactively to serve the needs of the aging society, do research that affects the country's policy in terms of the 3rd National Plan on the Elderly, and conduct action research to develop a system to support an aging society in Bangkok as well as create innovations that will be used to improve the quality of the elderly's lives in the future.

Lecturers, researchers, and students under Chula ARi are united in action and spirit for one year to push forward the aging society issue onto the national agenda in order that this issue will be received with continuous attention by all governments. There was a brainstorming meeting of a group of stakeholders, including the elderly, youth, and workforce, who will be the elderly in the future.

Community leaders, representatives from government and private sectors, took a look at the future of Thailand and exchanged ideas to use as a guideline for the 3rd National Plan on The Elderly, which is a long-term plan that will serve the National Strategy and Master Plan under the National Strategy in an area-based research, aiming to develop an aging society system by 5 mission groups.
