Chula ARi Hosted An “Intensive Tutoring The Elderly For Thailand 5.0” Activity

          On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, 10.00 a.m.–5.00 p.m., Chulalongkorn University Platform for Ageing Research Innovation (Chula ARi) by Prof. Vipan Prachuabmoh, Ph.D. (Planning Director) from College of Population Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and colleagues together with Chulalongkorn Radio Station, hosted an “Intensive Tutoring the Elderly For Thailand 5.0” activity at Chulalongkorn University Auditorium.

            This activity is an attempt to make Thai people aware of changes in the context of aging society and the shift in technology and innovation by increasing financial, legal, health, and media literacy knowledge for existing and future elderly people to be able to take care of themselves as long as possible, be aware of changes, and drive Thai society to advance stably and sustainably. Furthermore, it is also considered an activity that is consistent with Chulalongkorn University's vision of "a leading creator of knowledge and innovations for the sustainable development of society", aiming to publish research to create Thai society the context of aging society, reflecting the university's image of participating in developing and solving problems in an integrated, balanced, and sustainable way.

          The event included activities to smartly tutor the elderly into Thailand 5.0, with speakers and academicians from various faculties of the Chula ARi participating in lectures to pass on knowledge, innovations, and missions in various fields. There are also exhibitions from various departments led by the Chula ARi to allow participants to be informed of various aspects of the project, as well as live music by the Kachapmit band and singing performances by famous singers. The participants were elderly people, elderly caregivers, and more than 1,300 soon-to-be elderly people.
